KS3 Teacher – PRU Classroom

Location: Ferryhill
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £140–£250 per day
Full Time

Great teaching starts with great relationships.

Protocol Education are seeking a KS3 Classroom Teacher for a PRU setting in Ferryhill.

The successful teacher will be someone who is genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people, particularly those who may have found mainstream education difficult.

You'll need to understand that building trust can be just as important as delivering the curriculum. The ability to adapt, remain resilient and approach every pupil as an individual will be essential.

What you'll bring:

  • QTS and KS3 teaching experience.
  • Strong lesson planning and delivery skills.
  • The ability to differentiate and adapt learning.
  • A flexible approach to teaching.
  • Excellent behaviour management.
  • Patience and resilience.
  • The ability to build positive relationships.
  • A commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

In return, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a meaningful difference to young people's education.
  • Work within a supportive PRU environment.
  • Develop your experience within alternative provision.
  • Access free CPD and training through Protocol Education.
  • Receive dedicated consultant support.
  • Explore long-term and permanent opportunities.

If you're passionate about teaching the pupil, not just the lesson, we'd love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Protocol Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
