Job description
A good school in the heart of Southall are looking for an SEN TA to join their team. The school provide a secure and caring environment where children are comfortable and most important of all, happy. They have high expectations of each and every one of their pupils in an educational and social capacity.

The ideal candidate should have:

•Experience working with children that have SEN needs
•Experience in dealing with challenging behaviour
•Knowledge of Makaton and PECS is desired but not essential
•Provide general daily support to the class teacher

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible to support the students in the development of their learning, as well as their social, emotional and physical needs. You will be required to support the class teacher in all aspects of the school day as well as working very closely with each student in the class. The school is characterised by its core values and high expectations for student achievement and personal development. These being; respect, resilience, generosity, honesty, independence and happiness.

Please note the following requirements prior to applying for this position:
1. You will need to supply two years of references of which at least one must be from a school setting.
2. You must have a good level of both spoken and written English
We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
