Starting school can be challenging. Starting school in a new language can feel overwhelming.
We're working with a welcoming primary school in BS3 that is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated KS1 EAL Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children who are learning English as an Additional Language (EAL) as they settle into school life, develop communication skills, and build confidence in the classroom.
For many children, you're not just helping them learn English. You're helping them feel understood, included, and capable of succeeding alongside their peers.
If you're someone who celebrates the small victories, enjoys building meaningful connections, and believes every child deserves the chance to thrive, this could be the perfect role for you.
As a KS1 EAL Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping pupils access learning and become confident members of the school community.
Your responsibilities will include:
This role is about far more than language acquisition. It's about helping children find their confidence, build friendships, and develop a genuine sense of belonging.
We're keen to hear from candidates who:
Additional languages are welcomed but are not essential for this role.
✅ Dedicated consultant support from a team that knows the Bristol education community
✅ Free CPD opportunities, including our popular Thrive training
✅ Ongoing support throughout your placement
✅ Access to a variety of opportunities within local primary schools
✅ A consultative approach focused on finding the right school for you
✅ £250 Refer-a-Friend bonus
