Job description
AFTER HALF TERM START
A local authority provision is looking for a talented teacher to join their team from January 2018 until at least the end of the summer term but is likely to be on a rolling ongoing basis.

The role:
• Teaching primary school aged children in an alternative school setting - the students have been removed from mainstream Kingston borough schools.
• Involves supporting primary aged children in either a 1:1 setting or teaching in small groups.
• Involves working with children with SEND needs including challenging behaviour.
• Working in Kingston town centre or at one of the satellite locations nearby.
• The role is varied as your timetable changes depending on the children you are working with as the aim of this provision is to reintegrate the pupils where possible or transition to a more appropriate educational setting.

As a teacher for this provision, you will be fully supported, have a varied case-load and have ample time to plan as time is provided within your timetable.

For this role you must be:
• A qualified teacher with at least two years' experience working in either SEN or mainstream.
• Be comfortable supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or leading small groups.
• Confident in your ability in managing challenging and disruptive behaviour.
• Available immediately or ready to start a new role in January 2018.
