Protocol Education are looking to recruit a Key Worker for a 1-2-1 assignment at an alternative provision in Kirklees. The role is full time and will run at least until the end of the academic year. Everything is in place and pending the final paperwork sign off from Social Services.

The role will involve supporting young person who has been outside of education transition back to the classroom.

You job will be to support the social and emotional needs of the young person, alongside delivering functional skills. Due to working initially at the young persons home, in the community and at the school this position is only open to applicants with a valid drivers license and transport.

The provision provides a safe and nurturing environment for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education who may have Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs as well as other undiagnosed needs to develop vocational skills in order to gain future employment.

We are looking for someone with a strong character who can offer an empathetic, nurturing prescence whilst ensuring clear boundaries are being met. The ideal candidate will be resiliant, patient and be able to quickly build relationships. I am looking for applicants with a strong background in working with young people with SEMH needs who can present as a positive role model to the young person.

The position is full time, Monday to Friday 8.45 - 3.30.
