Intervention Teaching Assistant

A Pupil Referral Unit in North Somerset are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work with children who have been, or at risk of exclusion. The successful applicant will work with children across KS3-KS4 (Ages 12-16). The key aim is to get children back into a mainstream school.

Whilst you may have experience of working in an education setting, you may bring with you experience from working in the care industry, prisons or community work, youth groups or the military to name a few. The campus encourages applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and do not require you to have any formal teaching assistant qualifications.

You will:

  • Deliver Math & English interventions to a range of students
  • Be confident working with children whose behaviour can be challenging
  • Work both academically and personally with students
  • Be innovative and come up with ideas to support students and meet their diverse needs
  • Have experience of working with children or adults with SEMH needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Be flexible and adaptable, able to tailor your approach to the environment you are working in
  • Experience of organising activities is desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
