Protocol Education are working closely with several Alternative Education providers and Pupil Referral units in the Shropshire area looking for a SEN intervention support worker.

The person must be able to handle challenging behaviour in a calm and structured manner and embed a rigorous timetable to enlighten children's enjoyment in their education and progress their attainment in this vital learning period. The school will provide support and a detailed understanding of the children as well as appropriate resources to implement your plans to ensure learning is engaging and structured.  You must have a patient and understanding demeanour and be resilient to challenging behaviour. Be a strong leader who can influence, in a positive way, and encourage the re-engagement of education.

The Role. 

• Working closely with the staff team, specifically teachers in order to contribute to student's EHCP's and individual needs academically and socially

Plan and deliver interventions alongside the teacher             

• To support in managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced.

Candidate required to drive as there will be collection and drop offs (mileage covered)

• De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered.

• Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
