Inclusion Support Worker

Protocol Education are working with a school in the Huddersfield area who are after an inclusion support worker to support their students aged 8 to 16 with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. This is a temp to perm position, starting in the new academic year. The hours are Monday to Friday, from 8.30 to 3.30.

The school:

  • Provide the students an environment where they are able to enjoy learning
  • Tailor teaching to the needs and interests of each student
  • Develop the student’s self-confidence and skills in order to succeed in their adult lives
  • Located on a lot of grounds where students are able to enjoy the outdoors
  • Provide the students with vocational opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Handle challenging behaviours and de-escalate situations
  • Support students in their personal and educational development
  • Build rapport with the students
  • Use an innovative approach to learning
  • Be a role model to the students

Requirements:

  • Have experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Team Teach is desired but not essential
  • Have a nurturing and patient personality
  • Be able to confidently handle challenging behaviours
  • Be able to work well with others

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
