Protocol Education is working with a welcoming secondary school looking to bring a Humanities Teacher into their well-established department after Easter.
Whether you’re an experienced teacher ready for a fresh start, or an ECT looking for the right mix of guidance and independence, this could be a great fit.
The Humanities team are collaborative, forward-thinking, and genuinely proud of the curriculum they’ve built. You’ll be encouraged to share ideas, try new approaches, and teach in a way that helps students connect what they learn to the world beyond the classroom.
You’ll teach Humanities across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that are purposeful, inclusive, and engaging. The curriculum is thoughtfully planned, with room for you to lean into your strengths, whether that’s History, Geography, or another Humanities specialism.
Day to day, you’ll be:
Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and inspire
Sparking curiosity and building students’ critical thinking and discussion skills
Creating a calm, positive classroom where strong behaviour for learning is the norm
Using a range of teaching strategies and technology to keep learning focused and relevant
Differentiating effectively so every student can succeed
Tracking progress and using assessment to shape what comes next
Working closely with colleagues to keep teaching consistent, creative, and ambitious
UK QTS, or working towards it as an ECT
A genuine passion for Humanities and helping students see why it matters
Confident classroom presence and strong relationship-building skills
A reflective mindset and commitment to continuous development
High expectations and a belief that every student can achieve
Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
FREE access to our online CPD Academy
Ongoing, personalised support from a dedicated consultant
Roles in schools that value staff wellbeing and professional growth
A straightforward, supportive registration process
If you’re an ECT, you’ll be backed by an experienced team who understand how important those first teaching years are. If you’re more established, you’ll have the freedom to bring your expertise into a department that welcomes fresh thinking.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
