The Role

As a History Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and challenging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements
• Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and independent learning
• Monitor student progress and provide targeted support where needed
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and school community

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching History within a UK secondary school setting
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for History
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• The ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Desirable Experience:

• Experience teaching GCSE History
• The ability to teach additional Humanities subjects
• Experience supporting intervention and exam preparation programmes
• SEND experience
• Thrive training or a willingness to undertake professional development
