Job description
I am delighted to be supporting a Secondary school based in South Co. Durham in their hunt for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a long term role. The position is to start in January. This is an exciting and exceptional opportunity for candidates to become fully involved in whole class teaching. We are looking for people who are confident in their abilities, to deliver learning and have impact on all pupils.

The post will primarily be covering PPA and release time for teachers or supporting teaching and learning across the school.

We are looking for someone who will:
• Have high expectations of pupil's achievement and behaviour.
• Feel comfortable working across the school (Yrs R-6).
• Work well within a team.
• Show a good sense of humour.
• Be a positive role model for children.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

For immediate consideration, please apply to this advert or contact Lorna Aspden at the Newcastle branch of Protocol Education.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
