Protocol Education is currently hiring for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a school in Durham.

The school provides a child-centred, structured environment to ensure excellent short term education for young people who are currently out of mainstream education. They provide an academic, social and therapeutic programme to support the learning and personal needs of all of their students.

The role
• 5 morning per week as a TA
• 2.5 afternoons per week teaching.
• Covering teaching sessions where necessary when the teacher is unavailable
• Supporting the teaching and learning of primary age students with SEMH needs. Must have experience teaching the core curriculum focussing on literacy and numeracy.

Person Specification
• Qualified HLTA with experience working in the SEND sector with emphasis on behavioural issues.
• Exhibit patience and compassion
• Be supportive, kind and nurturing.
• Must be able to support whilst maintaining authority in your role.
