Protocol Education are urgently seeking a cover supervisor to work on a full time basis from September 2021 until at least December 2021 at a Hexham school

This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced cover supervisor or graduate keen to gain more experience in a school.

Work will be available from September 2021 until the end of the academic year.

The OFTSED graded good school is looking for strong, robust candidates who are able to form excellent working relationships with children and young people. Previous cover supervisor experience is not essential as training opportunities will be offered. This is fantastic experience for future teachers.

The role of the cover supervisor is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. The class teacher will set work for students to complete and the cover supervisor will ensure that pupils remain on task. Although it is not necessary for cover supervisors to have specific subject knowledge they should be able to manage behaviour and discuss the student's work with them, offering support and advice if needed.

A cover supervisor is the responsible adult in the classroom and is, therefore, responsible for dealing with any emergencies or problems that might occur
Ideal candidates will have experience in:

• Youth Work
• Support work and residential care
• Learning Mentoring
• Prison officers/ tutors
• Police
• Military
• Graduates interested in a career in teaching.
