Hearing Impairment Support Assistant (BSL Level 2) – Gateshead

Do you believe every child deserves to feel understood and included?

We're looking for a BSL-qualified Support Assistant to provide specialist support to children with hearing impairments across educational provisions throughout Gateshead.

You'll help children develop confidence, independence and meaningful connections while supporting their educational journey.

What you'll do:

• Use BSL to support communication and understanding
• Help pupils engage with lessons and classroom discussions
• Promote positive social interactions
• Encourage confidence and self-advocacy skills
• Adapt support to meet individual needs

Essential criteria:

• Level 2 British Sign Language qualification
• Driving licence and own vehicle
• Caring and empathetic nature
• Flexible approach to travelling between settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
