A fantastic school in Lincoln are looking for a 1-1 SEND TA for a child in year 4 with specific medical needs. 

This is a role which has the potential to go permanent. It is full time, starting from this September. 

This role requires a committed individual who has excellent attendance as you will be tained speciifically to supprot this child.

A care background/working with children with SEN/Medical needs is desirable. You will need to have experience working in a school setting for this role.

This position will continue whilst the child remains at the school

Experience of working within a school is preferred.  A willingness to try a variety of strategies as well as the ability to work as part of our friendly team is essential. Candidates should be hardworking, honest and reliable and have the best interests of the pupils at the core of everything they do.

The successful candidate will be working with a Year 4 child with additional needs who has a diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis, has a tracheostomy and is gastrostomy fed.  Previous experience of supporting children with such medical needs is preferable but not essential.  The teaching assistant will be provided with the appropriate training required to best support the child

  • support the child with their learning activities, attend to any additional learning needs and support their overall development;
  • follow strategies and provision outlined in the child's Education Health and Care Plan
  • support the full medical needs of the child which will include tracheostomy suctioning, changing and daily gastrostomy feeds
  • be responsible for the preparation of appropriate resources in order to ensure the child has full access to the curriculum
  • contribute to the health and well-being of the child
  • work collaboratively with specialist teachers
  • establish and maintain relationships with individual children and groups
  • be an effective role model for pupil behavior

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
