Protocol Education is recruiting a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEND and SEMH school in Northumberland. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced education professionals while supporting young people with a range of additional needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

You'll work closely with teachers and wider school staff to:

• Provide 1:1 and small group learning support
• Help learners regulate emotions using positive strategies
• Encourage communication and social development
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs
• Support behaviour positively and consistently
• Build trusting relationships with pupils
• Promote learner confidence and independence
• Celebrate progress, no matter how small

Who we're looking for

You'll have a Psychology degree and a genuine passion for understanding how young people learn and develop.
