Protocol Education is recruiting a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Gateshead on a full-time basis. You will support pupils with a variety of SEND and SEMH needs, helping them access learning and develop important social and emotional skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers, therapists and pastoral staff while developing your own professional skills.

Your responsibilities

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups

• Helping pupils engage with learning

• Encouraging confidence and independence

• Supporting emotional wellbeing

• Adapting tasks and resources

• Assisting with interventions

• Feeding back progress to the wider team

About you

• Degree in Psychology or related subject

• Genuine interest in SEND and child development

• Empathetic and approachable

• Calm and resilient

• Strong communication skills

• Eager to learn and develop

This role would suit graduates aiming for careers in Educational Psychology, Teaching, Mental Health, Social Work, Therapy or Specialist SEND Support.
