Graduate Learning Support Assistant

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work within lessons, deliver targeted interventions, and collaborate closely with teaching staff and SEN teams to help pupils access the curriculum and remain engaged in learning.

Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Graduate Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for graduates seeking hands-on experience in secondary education, SEND support, or pastoral settings.

Key Responsibilities for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant:

• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs within the classroom
• Working on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of students
• Assisting with planned interventions and support strategies
• Supporting inclusive learning and positive engagement
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff

Requirements for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant:

• A degree in any discipline (education, psychology, or related subjects welcomed)
• Experience supporting children or young people is preferred but not essential
• An interest in SEND, inclusion, or secondary education
• A professional approach to working in a school environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
