Job description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, well qualified Teacher of Geography to teach in a successful, well organised and resourced Humanities department, alongside a team of committed, specialist staff.  The school views humanities as a core subject, essential for and taken by all students. Students choose to specialise in either geography or history at the end of year 8 and start their GCSE study in year 9. Subjects included in the humanities faculty are geography, history and RE. Geography is a popular A Level subject and the post would involve the teaching of Geography at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5. Ability to teach another Humanities subject would be an advantage.

The individual best suited to this post will have the skills to help support, develop and implement ideas within an already successful team. With the changing climate in education, it is vital that the successful candidate be someone who is willing to work collaboratively and enthusiastically as well as demonstrating initiative.

•           Hold NQT or QTLS
•           Have a real passion for the subject matter
•           Deliver a GCSE curriculum with skilled differentiation and a strong focus on pupil engagement
•           Help students to make accelerated progress towards national expectations in English
•           Hold strong classroom management skills with the ability to use inspiration techniques to create order and deal with challenges.
•           Work as part of a team to enhance the overall abilities of children across school.

This is a school which serves the local community, located in the centre of a strong community, the students are friendly, respectful, generally well behaved and keen to learn.
