Geography Teacher

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Middlesbrough for an enthusiastic and skilled Geography Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

This is a full-time role, delivering engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3–5. The successful candidate will inspire students, promote a love of Geography, and contribute to the school’s commitment to high academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver Geography lessons across KS3–5 that are engaging, inclusive, and meet curriculum requirements.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and intervention where needed.

• Maintain classroom order and promote positive behaviour for learning.

• Contribute to departmental initiatives, schemes of work, and curriculum development.

• Liaise with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student achievement.

• Support the wider school ethos, events, and initiatives as required.

Person Specification / Key Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.

• Proven experience teaching Geography across KS3–5.

• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements.

• Ability to motivate, inspire, and engage students.

• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting diverse learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
