Job description
A GOOD' (by OFSTED) primary school in Neasden, Brent is currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child in Year 4. This is a full-time job starting ASAP and continuing at last until July 2019.

You will be working with a child who has challening behaviour and has been diagnosed with ADHD. You will assist them in both academic development and social interactions with other children. You will have to set clear boundaries supervise the child in the classroom and help them feel safe but also fully enjoy their learning experience in the school. On top of this, you may be asked to assist the class in every day activities, minimize the disruptions in the classroom and help class teacher with displays and admin work. As the child can be violent, the school is ideally looking for a candidate who is Team Teach trained or/and holds Restraint Certificate.

Essential skills and attributes:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional working manner
• A passion for working with children
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour & excellent behaviour management skills
• Good understanding of the British National Primary School Curriculum
• Ability to work with minimum of supervision
