A 'GOOD' (by Ofsted) primary school in the London Borough of Brent, which encourages confident and independent learners to achieve their full creative potential, currently wishes to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support their SEN team.
This is a long term role starting in as soon as possible and continuing for the rest of the academic year. The role involves supporting students in Year 5 and Year 6 with a variety of SEN needs, which specifically includes Speech Language and Communications Needs (SLCN). A TA who will carry out Speech and Language interventions in KS2 (Year 5 and 6 initially), and literacy and Numeracy interventions in KS2 with pupils at SEN support and they will need to be able to organise their own work based on targets given by the teacher.
The successful candidate will need to be trained and experienced in supporting young children with special educational needs (preferably ASD, ADHD, SEMH). You should have a demonstrable track record of relevant skills and experience gained within an SEN setting either in a mainstream or specialist organisation, as well as the success gained in your professional career to date. You will possess strong Numeracy and Literacy skills and in-depth subject knowledge of Upper KS2 British Curriculum.
You should be highly professional in every aspect, self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision.
