Full-Time BSL Teaching Assistant – Gateshead

Protocol Education is recruiting for a caring and nurturing school in Gateshead that is seeking a full-time BSL Teaching Assistant from September.

The school is committed to ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with hearing and communication needs
• Using BSL to facilitate understanding and participation
• Delivering one-to-one and group support sessions
• Encouraging communication and independence
• Assisting with emotional wellbeing and confidence building
• Working closely with teaching and support staff

Candidate Profile:

• BSL Level 2 qualified
• Passionate about supporting children and young people
• Positive, patient and resilient
• Experience in a school or support setting is advantageous
• Full UK driving licence required
