Job description
A large special needs (SEN) school based in Leicester is seeking an SEN teacher with some recent SLD experience to join their team from immediately. The successful applicant will be teaching a small mixed aged group of children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD.) The majority of the children have additional medical and sensory needs as well as physical impairments. Much of the work you would be doing will be based loosely on the Early Years curriculum with a particular focus on developing social and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be flexible, with the ability to use their own initiative where required. Experience working in an SEN school or with SLD children would be an advantage but the school are clear that they value a good Teacher. They would be more than happy to support an excellent practitioner with passion for SEN but limited SEN experience. Progress with these pupils can be slow when compared to their contemporaries so patience, a caring nature, passion for the job and strong self belief will be essential.

The school is modern, exceptionally well equipped, rated good by ofsted and is easily accessible on public transport. If you would be interested in this fantastic opportunity send your CV today and call Jed Downing at Protocol Education on 01162851615.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
