A thriving and inclusive primary academy in North Bristol is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join its dedicated team from April.
This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who understands how to support pupils effectively and wants to play a key part in strengthening phonics and early reading across the school.

Hours: 30 hours per week
Working weeks: Term time only, including INSET days
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme
You will work closely with teachers and leaders to provide high-quality learning support for pupils who need additional help to access the curriculum.
A key focus of the role will be developing phonics and early reading confidence, working with individuals and small groups to build strong literacy foundations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering targeted support for phonics and reading development
Supporting pupils during classroom learning and structured interventions
Working collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning activities
Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
Supporting pupils who may need additional academic or emotional support
This role would suit someone who is confident in the classroom and able to take initiative while working as part of a supportive team.

Has strong experience supporting learning in a primary classroom
Demonstrates solid knowledge of phonics and early reading development
Understands how to support pupils with a range of learning needs
Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
