A primary school in Lambeth has a Centre for Children with Speech and Language Difficulties.
The main aim of this centre is to provide children with a specialised curriculum tailored to meet their needs and to provide a wide range of speaking and listening opportunities.

As a Speech and Language Learning Support Assistant your main responsibility is to focus on developing every child's personality, unique talents and abilities. The school's inspiring and motivating curriculum aims to give every one of its pupils' equal support to become independent thinkers and learners for life.

The successful candidate will be able to provide speech and language support on a 1:1 basis using speech sounds, synthetic phonics and narrative groups to primary aged children as directed by the Speech Therapist. This role would ideally suit an experienced Speech and Language Learning Assistant who has experience working with children who have Autism.


Skills and qualifications required:

·Communicate with parents and carers.
·Experience using Makaton PECS and Phonics.
·Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.
·Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service
