Job description
Protocol Education are working very closely with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools in the Loughborough and North West Leicestershire area that are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants and/or Learning Support Mentors. Some of our Specialist SEN Schools cater for pupils with Complex Needs such as Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties. These are term time posts starting ASAP on a temporary basis leading to a permanent role for the right candidate.

The successful applicants will be based in very supportive departments working alongside other teaching assistants, qualified teachers and a dedicated Protocol Education Consultant. The right applicant will expect small class sizes, supportive classroom practitioners and a passionate senior leadership team who support CPD opportunities.

The Specialist Schools we work with have good funding and provide interactive learning environments for the needs and requirements of all their learners. They are in line with the National Curriculum, child-centered and directed learning through specific strategies and techniques, with a clear focus on improving communication and interaction skills through positive interventions.

We want you to apply if, you are looking to work away from a mainstream setting but want to continue to develop as a teaching assistant gaining valuable skills and are passionate about working with children irrespective of their learning requirements. We want people that really want to make a difference to children's lives and help them overcome their barriers to learning.

Applicants are required to have:
minimum qualification of grade C in English and Maths at GCSE level
valid DBS certificate (we can support with your application)
previous experience of supporting children
References to cover the last 2 years.
