Job description
Health Care Assistant

A Health care Assistant is required to work in a school in the London borough of Lewisham. This role will involve working one to one with a student with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and complex medical needs.
The school caters for children aged between 3-19 years with SLD and complex medical conditions, severe communication disorders, bi-modal sensory impairment and challenging behaviours.
Within this role, the Health care Assistant will be essentially working as a carer for the child who is of nursery age so experience working with nursery age children would be beneficial but not essential.
You must have experience working with Special Needs for this Health Care Assistant role and be willing to undertake any personal care duties such as feeding and changing. The child has specific medical needs so you may be required to undertake training for the role in order to conduct specific medical duties.
If you have Paediatric medical training OR come from a nursing/respite care background, this role would be ideal for you.
