Job description
Protocol are looking for experienced learning support assistants/teaching assistants that specialise in British sign language (BSL) and have experience working in a hearing impaired schools. You will be required to support and help the development of hearing impaired students across all ages in our SEN schools in Wandsworth. Successful candidates must be fluent in British sign language and have achieved no less than a level 2. Candidates will be required to support academic studies, develop students social and communication skills in hearing impaired SEN settings.

As a specialist British sign language LSA/TA, successful candidates will need the following skills and qualifications:

• To have worked in a SEN specialist setting
• British sign language (BSL) level 2
• Experience working with early years, primary and secondary children and adults.
• Positions are subject to an enhance disclosure barred service
• Excellent strategic & communication skills, the ability to use initiative and that can work well under pressure.

Other qualifications are desirable:
• First Aid trained
• Team Teach/MAPA
• PECS and Makaton
• TEACCH
