Protocol Education is currently hiring for teaching assistants to work with young people suffering from social, emotional and mental health needs.

This role is supporting extremely vulnerable young people who are unable to continue in mainstream schooling. These young people may have experienced toxic stress and trauma; they may be in foster care or living in children's homes which contributes to poor mental health. The role requires 1:1 tuition or small group work focussing on skills recovery after school closures and improving literacy and numeracy. You will need to help students return to their routine whilst focussing on their wellbeing both physical and mental.

We are looking for people who are capable of being compassionate and understanding of the issues these young people face whilst providing structured help to ensure they leave school with the qualifications and skills to be functional and helpful adults in today's society.

Youth Offender Case Workers are well suited to this role due to their previous experiences working with young offenders. They understand volatile behaviour and are resilient to those situations; therefore, they can provide support to young people despite their difficulties to ensure their continued success for the rest of their lives.

What Protocol Education can offer you:
• Excellent rates of pay
• Flexible work
• Short-term, long-term, and permanent placements.
• Our commitment to finding you the right school and opportunity.
• Support through all placements
• Eligibility to take part in free training days run by Protocol

We have an array of exclusive positions in the Leicestershire area for temporary and permanent contracts. To sign up or to have a confidential chat call Emily on 0116 216 2122 or email dominic.watts@protocol-education.com. Our term time opening hours are 7am-6:30pm Monday to Friday.

Please note. We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £40.00.
