Job description
Are you Ex Service personnel or looking to leave the Armed Forces over the next few months and not sure what civi life has to offer? Have you thought about getting into Teaching? If you have and but have thought its too much hassle then you couldn't be more wrong. Teaching is a profession that is crying out for good strong personnel like those leaving the armed forces.

Most service personnel have transferable skills. Skills that a school cannot teach you or drill into you like the services have.

I am an Ex Serviceman. I served in the British Army and I know what its like to adjust into Civi Street.

Teaching can give you the direction you crave and the structure you are used to while at the same time moulding the minds of future. I am not saying jump two feet into the world of teaching as for some working with children is not for them. Protocol Education is seeking Ex-Military personnel and Police officers to work as Cover Supervisor bank staff, for several academies around Kent for the new academic year.

As a cover supervisor;
• You will have a good level of education; ideally a degree but not needed if Ex service personnel. - (Discharge certificate would need to be presented.)
• Be able to manage a class of 30 pupils and be able to engage and deliver lesson to a wide range of students.
• You will have a strong resilient personality that can build rapport with students from the age 11-18 years.
• Provide structure and boundaries throughout the day to a child
• Be able to encourage and motivate adapt and over come, react to situations as they are presented
• Engage in sports or academic events
• Nurture and be a support arm to the children and school.

What Are Cover Supervisors?
Cover supervisors are booked on a daily basis; you will need to be available at 0700hrs for a morning call to work at the school. If by 0800hrs no call has been made to you, you can stand down.
As a Cover Supervisor this is a way into teaching full time and you get training in Classroom Management Skills, at the same time you will be experience what its like to work in an education environment.
Once you have CMS schools will look more favourably at you and then offer a SCITT (Teacher Training) if this is what they are looking for. A SKITT is where you will get paid while you train.
Starting as support also gives you the opportunity to go; I like this or no not for me! As there is no permanent contract you can walk away at any point as long as you let us know and you're not in a long term booking.

This will be a relief contract where you will only get paid for the days you work. Hourly wage is from £8.50 per hour to £10.50 per hour depending on Rank, Cap Badge and Education.

The main school we are recruiting for is an Academy in Gillingham by Brompton Barracks. But we also deal with a further 74 secondary schools, 185 primary schools and 37 SEN D Schools across Kent.
The school has a high need for support staff due to its size and connections with a second school close by. With over 2000 pupils between the two sites the need is high and work from October to April is guaranteed 3 days a week. Schools are offering direct teacher training for good strong personnel that have the right academic back ground. If teaching is for you then contact me today for more details.
