Job description
Key Stage 3 & 4 English Teacher needed SEND school in Southwark!

Are you an experienced SEND teacher? Are you able to teach English to pupils in key stages 3 & 4? Are you looking for a new challenge?

Protocol Education currently has a vacancy available for a strong English teacher, with previous experience working in SEND schools, to begin IMMEDIATELY at a school in Southwark. This school provides educational provisions for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education, as well as pupils with autism and challenging behaviours. Therefore, previous experience of working in a SEND school is ESSENTIAL.

This role is on a long-term basis until Christmas initially, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.

For this role, you will:
• Be able to commit to a full-time role (5 days per week)
• Be a secondary trained English teacher with QTS
• Have previous or existing experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities
• Confidence differentiating lessons for pupils with a range of different academic abilities
• Cable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus, classroom management and on-going 1:1 support where
necessary
• Familiarity with instructional approaches required to facilitate complete access to the curriculum for pupils with speech
and communicational difficulties, including BSL and Makaton
