The Role

We are looking for an educator who loves literature and language to join this high-performing team. You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (A-Level teaching is available for the right candidate).

  • Cultivating a love for reading and analyzing diverse texts, from Shakespeare to contemporary voices.

  • marking and assessment to drive progress and close attainment gaps.

  • Contributing to the department's extracurricular offerings, such as Debating Club, Creative Writing workshops, or theatre trips.

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent in the UK.

  • A relevant degree in English Literature, Language, or a related discipline.

  • A strong understanding of the GCSE English curriculum (AQA/Edexcel).

  • A passion for literacy and the ability to make complex texts accessible to all learners.

  • The ability to build positive rapport with students and manage behaviour effectively (though behaviour at this school is exemplary).
