Middlesbrough | Full-Time | September Start | KS3 & KS4

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in Middlesbrough on a full-time basis from September.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching English across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support students to make strong progress. The role would also suit a teacher who is willing to take some General Cover classes when required, providing valuable flexibility to the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and differentiated lessons
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and engagement
• Contribute positively to the wider English Department and school community
• Provide General Cover lessons when required
• Build positive relationships with students and staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience
• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 English
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting
• High expectations of student achievement and behaviour
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Adaptable and willing to support with General Cover
• Passionate about helping students develop their literacy, confidence and love of English
