Looking for your next English role, but want something meaningful, well-run, and genuinely supportive?

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary school seeking a full-time English Teacher to join them after half term on a maternity cover basis. It’s five days a week, full teaching responsibility, and the chance to step into a department that values knowledge, curiosity, and proper classroom craft.

This is a school where learning is taken seriously. The curriculum is knowledge-rich and thoughtfully designed to stretch and engage students of all abilities. Lessons aren’t about ticking boxes. They’re about building critical thinkers, confident communicators, and young people ready for the wider world.

You’ll be teaching students who are encouraged to challenge themselves, show respect, and come prepared. Behaviour expectations are clear and consistent, so you can focus on what you do best, teaching great English.

There’s also strong pastoral support in place. Staff work closely with families, attendance is prioritised, and student wellbeing sits at the heart of school life. It’s a community that believes success is about more than grades, it’s about resilience, confidence, and character too.

The leadership team are big on continuous improvement. They invest in staff development, reflect on practice, and aren’t afraid to evolve. If you like working somewhere that’s always moving forward, you’ll feel right at home.

What we’re looking for:

  • UK QTS is essential

  • Proven UK classroom experience
