Protocol Education are recruiting teaching assistants to work full time in one of our special needs schools located in Wandsworth. This particular school are looking for teaching assistants with a care background looking to transition into education. As part of the role you will have the opportunity to work one to one or within a small class based team supporting students with their for academic studies, developing communication skills and engaging students with sensory integration.

As a specialist provision, the school require someone who is experienced or open about working in special needs. As part of the role, we offer accredited CPD that include learning strategies, behaviour techniques and medical procedures. As an additional benefit, the school offer residential shift work in the evening and mornings supporting learners in a home setting. Shifts are optional and are separate from working in the school.

Main Duties:
  • Supporting students 1:1 with numeracy & literacy
  • Developing social & communication skills through sensory integration
  • Assessing pupils' levels and ability
