We’re looking for a caring, energetic Early Years Teaching Assistant to support nurseries and reception classes in a welcoming primary schools in Stockton. If you love phonics time, messy play, and being part of those “first ever” learning moments, this could be right up your street.

Early Years isn’t just about helping with coats and snack time. It’s about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and creating a safe, happy space where children feel brave enough to try, speak, and explore.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting children in Nursery or Reception

• Helping with phonics, early maths, and creative activities

• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development

• Working closely with the class teacher and EYFS lead

• Creating a warm, nurturing classroom environment

What we’re looking for:

• Experience working with children in Early Years or a similar setting

• A patient, calm and playful approach

• Understanding of the EYFS framework

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, or relevant experience

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
