Are you passionate about Early Years education and making a positive difference to children with Special Educational Needs?

Protocol Education is looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Early Years SEN Support Assistants to join our team, supporting children within private nurseries and Nursery and Reception classes in mainstream primary schools.

These rewarding roles involve working closely with young children who require additional support to access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence and achieve important developmental milestones.

Whether you're an experienced SEN Support Assistant, Nursery Practitioner, Teaching Assistant or have a background in childcare, we'd love to hear from you.

Your day could include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for children with additional needs
  • Supporting children during play-based learning and structured classroom activities
  • Encouraging speech, language, communication and social interaction
  • Helping children develop independence and self-care skills
  • Promoting positive behaviour through consistency and encouragement
  • Working alongside teachers, nursery practitioners, SENCOs and families to ensure every child receives the support they need

You'll be supporting children with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD
  • Global Developmental Delay
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in Early Years, childcare, nursery or school settings
  • Has experience supporting children with SEN or a genuine interest in developing within this area
  • Is caring, patient and resilient
  • Enjoys building strong relationships with young children
  • Is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child can flourish

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
