Job description
Summary of post
• EYs practitioner - working with early Years part of bigger team -( Multi-agency team of teachers, SLTs and SEN practitioners - very supportive, regular professional supervision and CPD opportunities)
• Early Years team work children with autism/social communication difficulties 0 - 4 years pre-school ( may also be some work in Reception)
• EYs part of team is 6 practitioners and a specialist early years teacher for autism.
• Provide a specialist service to children and families - home and nursery visiting programmes, specialist play groups, parent training workshops
• Newham -Inclusive East London borough, culturally and linguistically diverse, small but densely populated, good transport links, easy to get around without a car
• Central, well equipped office base in East Ham

Requirements
• Ideally NNEB or equivalent or above level of qualification in child care./child development
• Experience of working with young children with autism/social communication difficulties in nurseries and/or the community
• Experience of supporting parents and developing relationships with families
• Experience of working with other professionals ie health, social care
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• High standard of written and verbal communication skills


We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00
