Job description
An Early Years SEND Nursery Officer is required for a temporary to permanent or permanent post in North Leicestershire. The provision provides high quality education and care within a nursery environment for children with disabilities and/or special education needs.

You will work as a team member of a multidisciplinary environment providing high quality, integrated education and care for children with disabilities and/or special education needs. You will promote good practice and positive attitudes towards disability and work to support children within the nursery environment.

Working Monday to Thursday each week you will use your knowledge of child development to assist in the devising and planning of individual programmes, acting as a key worker for children and sharing relevant information with outside professionals and agencies. You will work with the children to monitor their progress ensuring that accurate records are kept and that the Nursery Manager is up to date with progress. You will be actively involved in within the nursery itself providing care and educational benefit to the children in your care.
Applicants should be level 3 qualified with experience in an Early Years environment. Given the complex needs of the children in your care it is hoped that you will have experience of supporting pupils with special education needs or disabilities. You will be a good team player with experience as a Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader or Deputy.
