Job description
Our Early Years Managers work to ensure that the children attending our nursery receive outstanding' care and education. The successful candidate will have robust knowledge of the EYFS, strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage a team of staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Manage a team of childcare staff effectively through team meetings, one to ones and working groups to ensure children's needs are met.

2.Specific responsibility for the care and development of infants (aged 3 months-5years) within the nursery and crèche provision.

3.Communicate effectively with Deputy Head to ensure planning is child led and recorded effectively and that staff have the relevant information to ensure that this happens.

4.Assist the Deputy Head of Centre in motivating and supervising the nursery staff team including creche, sessional staff, volunteers and students.

5.Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers of children attending the nursery, encouraging engagement with the provision and ensuring that concerns are dealt with.

6.Implement policies and procedures specific to children 3 months to 5 years and ensure that these are followed by staff group to guarantee outstanding' practice.

7.Lead on and oversee staff planning and preparation of group and individual work to suit the needs of the infants holding regular meetings and ensuring best practice is adhered to at all times.

8.Lead on home visits to ensure settling procedures are adapted to support individual children's needs and partnerships with parents are outstanding.'

9.Oversee Classroom Monitor and ensure all records are kept up to date, meetings take place and reports written in line with agreed policies.

10.Work in partnership with Priority Families and Inclusion Manager to ensure early identification of children's needs and implementation of next steps and provision plans.

11.Deputise for the Head of Early Years Education as and when needed to ensure consistent outstanding' care and education are maintained.

12.Work in partnership with relevant experts and professionals, to develop and run information and learning sessions aimed at parents and carers with children over 18months.

13.Keep up to date with current thinking, regulation and guidance in relation to early years development particularly for infants.
