Job description
Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge?

I am recruiting on behalf of an Oftsed rated ‘Good’ 3 form entry primary school based in Hillingdon. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can teach English as an Additional Language to support children in groups and on a 1:1 basis. Many of the children you will be working with are new arrivals to the UK and have limited knowledge of the English language. You would be required to prepare resources to aid their progress and adapt any tasks to suit their needs.

The successful candidate should therefore be able to establish a good supportive relationship with the pupils they are supporting. They would also be required to liaise with the class teacher and parents to update them on the progress pupils.

Successful applicants must have:

- A minimum of 3 months in a classroom environment in the UK.

- Experience working with children with English as an Additional Language.

- The ability to adapt and prepare resources to suit the needs of the child.

- Bilingualism is not essential but would be an advantage.

- A UK DBS or willing to undertake one.

- 2 excellent references.

To be considered for this role please apply with your up to date CV or call on 01895 451 960 for more information.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
