Job description
Primary EAL Specialist

EAL Language support Specialist required from September for work with KS1 and Early Years including work preparing KS1 SATs and Phonic tests at a multi-cultural inclusive school in central Nottingham, 2 form entry classing with a supportive structure and a highly regarded Key Stage 1 department. For the right candidate there is a possibility for the long term contract to become available.

The school is focused on raising attainment across their year groups with a key focus on the KS1 SATs as well as Phonic intervention within their lower age groups with children who have English as an Additional language needing further intervention to support their language and phonic development.

The successful candidate will have:

-The ability to support all stages of language acquisition through 1:1 and small group work
-An understanding of, and the capability to put in place strategies to support direct language instruction, speaking and listening, reading, writing and verbal communications
-Experience working on a 1:1 basis or group work to support learning
-Specific tools and skills / resources to help pupils achieve in all subject areas
