DT Teacher

Protocol Education is working with a welcoming, forward-thinking secondary school who are looking for a Design and Technology Teacher to join their established department after Easter.

This role would suit an experienced DT specialist ready for a fresh chapter, or an Early Career Teacher keen to grow in a school that genuinely supports its staff. Either way, you won’t be left to muddle through on your own.

The role

You’ll teach engaging Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop creativity, resilience, and practical problem-solving skills. The curriculum is broad, well thought out, and gives you the chance to lean into your specialism wherever possible.

You’ll be:

• Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons that bring projects to life
• Creating a classroom culture where students feel confident to experiment and learn from mistakes
• Using a range of teaching strategies and tools to keep learning purposeful and hands-on
• Adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Tracking progress and using assessment to guide next steps
• Working closely with colleagues to keep teaching consistent, creative, and ambitious
• Promoting strong behaviour for learning and building respectful, positive relationships

What we’re looking for

• UK QTS, or working towards it if you’re an ECT
• A genuine passion for practical learning and Design and Technology
• Strong relationship-building skills with both students and colleagues
• A reflective approach and the drive to keep developing
• High expectations and a commitment to inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
