Protocol Education are working with Secondary Schools in the North Somerset area (particularly Weston and Churchill) to help them cover teacher absences and sickness with Unqualified Supply Teachers; is role is a fantastic fit for confident, outgoing Drama students and graduates. The Role

As an Unqualified Supply Teacher, you’ll step in when a teacher is absent. You’re not expected to teach new content. Your role is to lead, guide and engage.

  • Deliver pre-set work left by the teacher
  • Use your presence and communication skills to hold the room
  • Keep students focused, motivated and on task
  • Build positive, professional relationships with pupils
  • Adapt your approach to suit different classes and environments

Your drama background gives you a real edge—confidence, improvisation and energy are key.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for individuals who bring energy, confidence and a positive presence:

  • Drama students or graduates (or similar backgrounds)
  • Confident communicators who can engage a room
  • Calm, adaptable and resilient
  • Passionate about working with young people
  • Experience in drama, youth work, tutoring, coaching or similar is a bonus
  • Must have the right to work in the UK

To Clear, You Must Have

Proof of ID (e.g. passport)
Two proofs of address
CV covering the last 10 years
Professional references covering 2 years (all childcare references from the past 10 years if applicable)

International Candidates

You must have:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • An Overseas Police Check (for any country lived in for 3+ months in the last 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
