The role

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you'll deliver engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to think creatively, solve problems, and develop valuable technical skills.

You'll be:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 if applicable

  • Inspiring students through creative, practical, and engaging learning experiences

  • Teaching your DT specialism, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, Food Technology, or a combination of subjects

  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student can succeed

  • Assessing, monitoring, and supporting student progress

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop an exciting and innovative curriculum

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities

What we're looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Design & Technology within a secondary school

  • Strong classroom management and excellent subject knowledge

  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage learners of all abilities

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A positive, organised, and proactive approach
