Job description
Protocol are looking to recruit a Design and Technology Technician for a highly considered Secondary School in the Durham Area starting mid July and carrying through to November.
The school's Design Technology Department needs a reliable, skilled and hardworking Design Technology Technician to support students in workshop lessons and to oversee the technical support of the department. The school is prepared to offer relevant assistance and training in all areas to the selected candidate.
The successful candidate must have experience as a Design Technology Technician which includes health and safety awareness, safety training in using circular saws, chop saws, band saws and other related workshop equipment.

Essential requirements:
• A Qualified Teacher Status (either a PGCE or Cert Ed.)
• Very good knowledge of the British National Curriculum and the ability to plan differentiated work.
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willing to undertake one.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Excellent teaching references.

Please note: We undertake safeguarding checks on all our workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. As part of these checks, we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in schools. If you do not have a valid subscription to the DBS Update Service, we will require you to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process, at a cost of £44.00.
