We’re looking for a qualified Design & Technology Teacher (Food Specialism) to join a dynamic secondary school in Hackney, where innovation and practical learning take centre stage.

About the Role

You’ll be teaching Food Preparation and Nutrition across KS3 and KS4, encouraging students to explore ingredients, techniques, and healthy living through exciting, practical lessons.
The department is well-equipped with modern facilities and a supportive team who collaborate closely to share resources and ideas.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging Food Technology lessons

  • Supporting students in developing strong practical and theoretical understanding

  • Preparing materials, demonstrations, and practical cooking sessions

  • Assessing progress, providing constructive feedback, and celebrating success

  • Maintaining a safe, organised, and inspiring classroom environment


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Specialism in Food Technology or a related Design & Technology subject

  • Recent experience teaching in a UK secondary school

  • Strong classroom management and a positive approach to learning

  • A genuine passion for food, creativity, and hands-on learning
