Creatively Minded - Pupil Support Assistant

Working with young people can be a rewarding but challenging experience and requires patience, adaptability and a can-do attitude.

We are looking for individuals trained in drama, art, music and sports to inspire children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to develop their skills and interests in a safe and caring school environment.

The role of a Support Assistant is to remove the barriers impacting a young person's ability to access the curriculum, engage in learning and enable them to reach their full potential.

Experience working with young people would be beneficial, but we would welcome applicants from candidates who have a background in supporting others in a variety of sectors.

A motivation to work with and improve outcomes for young people is essential.

As a Pupil Support Assistant, you will;
-Be able to use your creative skills applied to different students to help bring out their unique skills and personalities
-Build and maintain successful relationships with learners
-Support a named pupil or a group of students in traditional and non-traditional learning environments.
-Deliver activities aimed at engaging pupils in learning / improving behaviour
-Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem.
-Offer a supportive approach in a role-modelling/mentoring capacity
