Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants from creative backgrounds such as art, music or acting who are keen to apply their creative skills within a special needs school and make a positive impact on students learning and development. With state of the art facilities, this particular school offers tailored curriculum to primary students. As a specialist school you will be working with a variety of special needs that include physical disabilities, autism, severe learning disabilities and speech and language difficulties.

As a teaching assistant you will be required to think creatively and apply your skills to sensory sessions, develop students hand eye coordination, speech & language skills, social/communication skills, speech and language skills, independence and cognitive processes. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work within a variety of different subjects such as cooking, art & music.

Main Duties:
  • Engaging students through creative activities such as music, art & sensory integration
  • One to one support focusing on students communication and hand eye coordination
  • Working with the teacher to assess pupils' levels and ability
  • Ensuring the schools ethos and policies are being implemented
